Green economy

The decarbonization of the economy presents significant challenges for workers and businesses.

MIDE Development has experience measuring the level of green employment, assessing the impact of decarbonization on labor demand, and designing and evaluating interventions aimed at equipping workers with the green skills demanded by the market.

Our work in the

green economy

Estimating green employment levels

We measure the size and evolution of green jobs at national and sectoral levels, identifying the occupations and industries that contribute to a sustainable economy. Using methodologies adapted to local contexts, we estimate the job creation potential linked to the green transition.

Identifying economic sectors with green skills gaps

We conduct sectoral assessments to identify key sectors whose sustainable growth is constrained by a shortage of skilled workers. These analyses allow us to focus job training efforts on strategic sectors.

Estimating green skills gaps

We analyze the supply and demand for green skills, identifying gaps between employer needs and the skills available in the workforce. This analysis informs the design of relevant training programs and workforce retraining policies.

Evaluation of green training programs
